McKinstry (foot) is nearing a return to health, and coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday "there's a chance" he could begin taking on-field reps at the Saints' mandatory minicamp, Matthew Paras of NOLA.com reports.
The Saints selected McKinstry (foot) in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 41st overall.
McKinstry had his surgically repaired foot re-checked Tuesday, with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relaying that doctors deemed the cornerback's recovery to be on track and as expected.
Doctors at the NFL Scouting Combine discovered a Jones fracture in McKinstry's foot, but he's still expected to work out at Alabama's pro day before undergoing surgery this spring, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
